Very powerful performance by Broderick Crawford lifts this film to more than it is basically worth, though still a good story. Sags a bit half-way through. Scam artists at work without shame. Fellini's direction is admirable.Italian dialogue, no hard-coded subs.
Worst of Children of the Corn franchise! The 1984 movie with Linda Hamilton is still the best. Really all sequels of the Corn are the worse. I watched this movie because I thought the 2020 movie is a remake. It has nothing to do faithfully with the famed short story written by Stephen King who I am sure is very very very upset about the ridiculous movie. He did not write about a creature of the Corn but an entity of the Corn. People still waste money in moviemaking today! The girl leader of the Corn named Eden eating apple? Oh, please! What is much worst is that the movie is Australian! The famed story is American! What is good about the movie is that it has good CGI. That's all, folks!
Just binged all three seasons of Pennyworth. This show stands extremely well on its own. If you knew nothing about the Batman story, you would find this a remarkably well produced series. Great character and story development. Season 1 pulls you into the world of London in the very early 1960's. Season 2 suddenly goes full-on alternate history and wildly presents a remarkably engaging could-be history. Enjoyed it SO much that the last episode of the season was a bit of a letdown, as it tied up a lot of the story line too quickly in my opinion (because I wanted more!). Season 3 finds us in the mid 1960's and in a world that fully was affected by the developments of Season 2. But I will say that Season 3 was not as strong as Season 2. You could say that they were building the character stories that would happen in Season 4... but sadly, Pennyworth was cancelled after season 3.
