Wasn’t too bad but it could have been a lot better, moreover it is historically very remote from accuracy, starting with the fact that Napoleon who was 24 when he smashed the blockade of Toulon is being played by Joaquin Phoenix, an actor who is twice that age ! That’s a major casting mistake.
Ridley Scott should have used 2 different actors in order to incarnate more accurately Napoleon throughout his life.
not a bad movie, with great batlles...i see some critics about Joaquin Phoenix age, but hes a great actor, so you soon forget that. Others say the movie looks like a speed run of Napoleon life, but what do you expect? I mean, you needed a 8 hour movie if you wanted the full story
I really liked this. The whole Demi God cult thing was hilarious. Intentional low budget look, but they don't slack on the intelligent jokes. It's 'Before Sunset', but in space.
Looking forward to this one. Curious to see "Reacher" in a totally different role. *edit* Great movie. Based on a true story and after reading up on the actual events, I can say they stayed close to it. Real tearjerker as well. My missus went through a couple of tissue boxes :D "Reacher" is a fine actor. He held up against a veteran like Hilary Swank.
