The movie was poorly written. Everything from the dialogue to the acting. The production was terrible. Hopefully this doesn't prove the end of the quality movies he has done in the past. This movie was terrible, disjointed and a wast of time.

For example, early on Paul is sent by Stilgar to cross the desert by himself. (Why does he have to cross the desert alone? Who knows, the movie doesn't say.) We see Paul walking off into the desert, with Chani watching him from a great distance. That cuts to Chani with Paul, teaching him to sand-walk. That cuts to Chani showing Paul water harvesting systems. What ever happened to Paul crossing the desert by himself?
